MIGRATION OF OVER 100 BLOGS
When building a marketplace with products from all over the world the challenge will always be the collection and migration of product data into a uniform format. Koda is the exclusive supplier of 6 international brands with a total of over 100,000 SKUs. Each brand has completely different inventory management software, data structure, and even content in different languages with brands from Spain, Germany, Italy and Canada.
Koda battled for over a year with other web design agencies, spending countless man hours trying to acquire and migrate the product data into Wordpress and WooCommerce.
Koda discovered MOBLE's powerful CMS and approached us to determined if their project was a good fit for our platform. While knew the project would be no easy undertaking, and had sympathy for the previous developers, we knew immediately that MOBLE could not only deliver the project but with MOBLE CMS make light work of ongoing management and the addition of knew brands to the market place.
Rather than fight with the data, we opted to write a series of parsers, scrapers and bots, to go and get the data and format it to a uniform structure.
MOBLE's powerful inventory management can easily handle over 4,000 variants per product page, where other leading competitor CMS solutions can only handle 50, or at best 200.
We knew we had flexibility to structure the data, information architecture, search and navigation in a way that was best for the customer, rather than having to design around the limitations of the previous CMS. As such we decided to provide a completely new website design.
We used MOBLE's marketplace technology so that each brand almost behaved as it own store, while content could be searched and sorted seamlessly across all brands for effortlessly simple search and browsing.
Being a B2B marketplace, product ordering is for registered members only, such as architects, specifiers and interior designers. Members are assigned to price lists, they may add items to their cart and submit for a Quote Request by the Koda Sales team.
The website design uses the latest 'on scroll' animations that all content managers can enjoy in the editor of MOBLE CMS, without any code or design skills whatsoever.

MOBLE has provided Koda Lighting with a robust platform that can be used to confidently add more brands to the marketplace. Koda has three price points for onboarding new brands, either manual for free using MOBLE CMS, via a Parser method, or failing that, a scraper method. With fixed pricing and known times frames, the previous uncertainty around expansion has been removed, and Koda can now approach new brands with defined processes.
Moving forward, MOBLE will continue partner with Koda Lighting to add new brands, plus dive deeper into the ERP and customer experience sides of the platform, ensuring that our client has the very best digital technology to guide the brand forward in the years to come.
